Sunday Selections

May 17, 2015

What day is it? I’ve lost track, this weekend has been that long. May in Germany rocks. There are three long weekends in May and this one just gone is the best of them all — four days of bliss. Unfortunately, unless you book early enough, long weekends are notoriously expensive to travel on. Given that Ben and I are living on a single salary at the moment, we need to be budget-conscious in planning our getaways so we stayed in Berlin this long weekend.

But that’s okay. This weekend was lovely. There were margaritas, karaoke, a visit to the Museum für Naturkunde (Museum of Natural History), breakfast at the aptly named ‘Breakfast Market’ (delicious) as well as a stroll around the Mauerpark fleamarket. What did you get up to this weekend in your city?

Here are this week’s favourite links:

WATCH: Filmmaker JT Singh takes us on a unique adventure through the streets of Shanghai today. Cool!

READ: I had a chuckle at this article on ’14 things that prove Australia is not a real place’.

EAT: Take all the good things in life (haloumi, olives and fried zucchini), mix in some grains, drizzle with olive oil and tahini and you have one killer meal.

MAKE: I’ve always struggled with this problem, but now I have the answer.

BUY:  I want these for my flat!

GO: This post on driving New Zealand’s most dangerous road brings back such fond travel memories from my trip a few years ago.

Have a great week ahead! x

I found the article “14 things that prove Australia is not a real place” very amusing too.
