Healdsburg in California, Must-See Fall Destination

When most people think of California, they think of white sandy beaches, palm trees, and year-round sunshine. They don?t think of fiery red leaves, crisp, cool air, or streets lined with gold, red and brown. They don?t think of places like Healdsburg. Whether you?re a Californian looking for the ideal fall getaway or an out-of-state resident who wants to escape the cold without sacrificing the beauty that comes with the changing seasons, Healdsburg, is the ideal destination for you.

Why Healdsburg in California is a must-see fall destination

Moustache Baked Goods

If you?re a connoisseur of delectable baked goods and value creativity and hard work above all else, Moustache Baked Goods is a must-stop while you?re in the area. This bakery bakes all of its goods from scratch, by hand, fresh, every day. As if that?s not amazing enough, it sources all of its ingredients from local food growers and farmers (a local establishment that supports other local establishments). The cherry on top, is, of course, the ‘beyond tasty??treats. In its displays you?ll find cupcakes, pies, tarts, macaroons, and every other baked good your stomach could possibly desire. The only catch is that you need to arrive early as most of its goods are sold out by midday (they?re that good!).

Wine country tours

On the outskirts of Healdsburg town, you will find Healdsburg wine country. This area boasts three distinct wine regions, and each shares a unique flavour due to different varieties of grapes. Several companies offer tours of all the best Healdsburg wineries, including Healdsburg Wine Tours and Wine Country Journeys, LLC. Whichever tour you choose to take, you?ll have the opportunity to visit Jordan Winery, which is renowned for its stunning chateau, wine and food pairings, and, of course, its wines. You may also visit Williamson Wine Tasting Room, Dry Creek Vineyard, MacRostie Estate House, and other local favourites. You?ll also get a chance to taste the delectable cuisine at each of the establishments you visit, such as ahi poke, grilled sunchokes, beef nigiri, braised oxtail, and chocolate truffles.

Most wine tours last four to five-hours. If you have a larger party, a tour bus may be your only transportation of choice. However, if you have a more intimate group, you may be able to travel from winery to winery via town car or SUV.

The taste of tea

Is tea more your speed, or do you have little ones who would enjoy a beverage or two while you?re in town as well? The Taste of Tea is a local tea shop that offers a vast selection of loose leaf teas from all over the world. You?ll also discover a tasty menu of Japanese dishes, many of which use teas as ingredients, as well as an intimate spa that (you guessed it!) also uses tea to relax and cleanse the body. As for the tea you can drink, you can either order it to-go in small containers or as a hot beverage to sip on while you dine.

Downtown dining destinations

Known for its savoury eats, varied menus, and fine wines, downtown Healdsburg offers a wide range of dining options that can please everyone from hungry families to fine dining enthusiasts. While touring downtown Healdsburg, be sure to try The Brass Rabbit, Barndiva, Valette, or Dry Creek Kitchen for a delicious dinner. If you are looking for a tasty lunch spot, Campo Fina, The Shed, or The Chalkboard serve both lunch and dinner. Whether you?re searching for a fine-dining establishment or a family-friendly restaurant, Healdsburg has the perfect fare for any occasion.

Healdsburg has a lot to offer in terms of scenery, food, and beverages. If you?re in the mood for a real fall getaway during which you can relax, eat, drink, and be merry, Healdsburg, California, is the perfect destination.
