Sunday Selections

August 31, 2014

It’s been raining all morning, this last day of summer. The seasons are changing fast, that’s for sure.

On my walks around Berlin I’ve been busy snapping as many photographs as I can of all of the lush, green ivy that drapes so many of the buildings around the city (if you caught last week’s Sunday Selections, you’ll see what I mean!). With the leaves already yellowing, it’s only a matter of time before these vines disappear too. I don’t think I’m ready for that yet…

WATCH: The concept of home is certainly a fluid one. Today, more and more people around the world live in countries not considered their own, many of whom have been forced away from their homeland. In today’s TED talk, ‘Where is Home?’, writer Pico Iyer explores this ever-morphing concept of what home means, the effect that travel has on our understanding of this and the pleasure of appreciating stillness.

EAT: All I am craving nowadays are nutrient-rich, vegetarian food and this shell bean vegetable soup has been bookmarked for an easy midweek dinner.

DIY: I love the look of these DIY cake domes — perfect storage for those with a sweet tooth.

DREAM BUY: This cute little taffeta skirt is officially on my autumn wish list.

BUDGET BUY: The clever new moment lens (available for pre-order now) tells me that in the very near future, a phone will be all that you need to capture high-quality images everywhere you go. And at only $99 for either the tele lens or wide angle lens, this has to be one of the most affordable and convenient ways to improve your photography out there.

GO: I’m just not ready to farewell summer yet, and a post like this is not helping my separation anxiety.

Have a great week, friends!
