Sunday Selections

March 22, 2015

Happy Sunday dearest readers! As I sit here typing at my little table by the window this Sunday morning, pot of coffee brewing, I can’t tell you just how excited I am. You see, this time next week I’ll be in Australia! It’s been over a year since I’ve been home and the prospect of spending some quality time with loved ones, replenishing my severely depleted vitamin D levels and indulging in some of the best coffee and food in the world really does make me one happy lady this Sunday.

And another thing that makes for a happy Sunday? Sunshine! It really seems as though spring has landed in Berlin, with most of the past week looking like this. This photo was snapped on a walk through Mauerpark on Thursday after work on a mission to replenish my dwindling coffee bean supplies at Bonanza Coffee Roasters. Yep, Berliners are pretty excited about spring.

Here are this week’s favourite links:

WATCH: I took a trip down memory lane when I saw Devin Super Tramp’s new video this week on jet boating in Skipper’s Canyon in New Zealand’s south island. Ben and I did an epic road trip from the north to south of New Zealand about six years ago and this was one of the handful of adrenaline-pumping activities we did. What a blast!

READ: This article on why white people are called expats and everyone else is described as immigrants caught my eye this week. What’s your opinion on this terminology?

EAT: This Mediterranean bostock (baked brioche) with pistachio cream. Oh my.

MAKE: Easter is sneaking up on us and I must admit that I’m a little excited at the prospect of gorging on hot cross buns and chocolate eggs: my favourite things about Easter. Since eggs are the universal symbol of Easter, here are 15 creative ways to decorate them. How cool is number 5?

BUY: I picked up these super comfy slip-ons yesterday now that the weather is getting a little warmer and it’s safer to expose my ankles.

GO: Did I say already that I’m excited about jetting home to Australia? These photos of The Whitsundays in the north of Australia remind me of how beautiful my island home is.

Stay tuned for next Sunday’s post about my arrival home! x

Anne-Laure, that sounds like the perfect start to a Sunday. Berlin was looking beautiful today, albeit a little on the chilly side! I had a wonderful Sunday with friends hanging out at Mauerpark. Now I’m sipping on some red wine on the couch. Perfect. I hope yours was fab. What did you get up to? x
