You may have noticed the pretty tile pictures that flooded my Instagram feed last month when I visited Lisbon. There were so many beautiful, vibrant details at every turn and I just couldn’t get enough of them! My SD card quickly filled up and I completely lost my bearings around the labyrinthine streets, repeatedly being lured by pretty colours down quiet alleyways, discovering the city without a map or any particular destination in mind. That’s the best way, isn’t it?
All of the intricate details I captured made me curious about what details you had captured on your travels, so it was only right that this month’s Instagram Challenge had a #MyDetailCapture theme. There were so many wonderful posts in the challenge of details from all over the world that, as always, it was tricky to narrow down this roundup to only ten, but here they are. Congratulations to all the featured Instagrammers and if you like what you see here, you might like to follow along with these globe wanderers on their journeys.
#MyDetailCapture: 10 of the best posts:
Hokkaido, Japan
Katara Cultural Village, Qatar
Peñíscola, Spain
Amalfi Coast, Italy
Park Guell, Spain
@aduh21
Ben Youssef Madrasa, Morocco
Cochem, Germany
Pamukkale, Turkey
Chichen Itza, Mexico
And the winner of this month’s Instagram Challenge:
Paris, France
Big congratulations to all the incredible Instagrammers that were featured in the roundup this month! Keep your eyes peeled on @departmentofwandering later this month for a brand new Instagram challenge and a new opportunity to be featured!
Which featured photo from the this month’s roundup was your favourite?
Thank you so much for picking me! That lavender shot has actually been my phone lack screen since I took it back in July!! 😀
Your shot HAD to be included, Kaley — it’s beautiful! I’m so desperate to get back to Japan. Hopefully as a stopover on the way home to Australia in a few months! x
Thanks so much for featuring me. The ground detail at Pamukkale, Turkey was so interesting to me and I’m glad you agreed! Turkey has so much to offer to travellers!
I loved your close up of this Pamukkale texture Jenn. It would have been such an incredible place to visit! x
