On the 23rd of October, our beautiful baby, Evelyn, was born and our lives changed forever. I couldn’t be more excited to introduce you to her!
Evie will be four weeks old tomorrow – I can’t believe it. It’s taken me a long time to publish this update and I wish I could say it was because I’ve been blissed out in the newborn bubble. Actually though, it’s been a pretty scary and stressful first month. Shortly after we took her home from hospital, Evie had to be readmitted to the special care nursery due to an infection and she had to spend a full week in there recovering. We’ve since been struggling with feeding and weight gain issues for the past few weeks. I’m so relieved to say that she’s doing much better now and is finally fattening up.
Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out to send messages of support and encouragement over the past few weeks. This wonderful community is such a source of strength and it means so much that we’ve been in your thoughts. Now that we’re back on track, I can’t wait to share all the details about the past month, starting with her birth story! I really look forward to writing about my labour and Evie’s birth – it’s something I want to document and remember forever.
In the meantime, you can catch up on my entire pregnancy journey, from start to finish, right here.
