Hello from Sydney! If you’ve been following along on Snapchat (deptofwandering) and Instagram, you will have seen that on Friday I jetted up to Sydney for the weekend to attend The Travel Bootcamp. Oh my goodness. Led by three of the travel industry’s greats, Lauren Bath (Australia’s first professional Instagrammer), Liz Carlson (award-winning travel blogger of Young Adventuress) and Georgia Rickard (magazine editor and travel writer), I can’t even begin to say how useful, reassuring and inspiring it was. I think I need to gush about it all in its own blog post so stay tuned for that one. I stayed at the beautiful Hotel Urban up in North Sydney and spent Friday afternoon down at a moody Bondi Beach watching the surfers catch the waves in. Wow. What a weekend it’s been.
I also wanted to let you guys know that there will be a bit of a change happening with the weekly Sunday Selections feature. As of next week, instead of a blog post here on The Department of Wandering, it’s going to be sent directly to your inbox via email, exclusively to email subscribers. So to keep having access to all the happenings, life updates and clicky internet goodies, be sure to sign up to the mailing list via the sidebar. There’s some pretty big news — I mean BIG — coming your way next Sunday too and, trust me, you really don’t want to miss that.
Here are this week’s favourite links:
