Can day trips really get much better than this? Surely not! If you’re looking for an affordable escape from Hvar for a day, look no further than the spectacular Pakleni Islands — a series of low-lying, wooded islands directly off the coast. With crystal clear lagoons, alluring turquoise water and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, you really couldn’t ask for a more perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Hvar.
Getting to the Pakleni Islands:
Taxi boats service the islands on a regular basis and for a bargain of a price — expect to pay only 40 kuna (5 euros) return to escape to this paradise. Transfers only take around 15 mins too, ensuring that a full day of relaxation can be scheduled. Find a boat marked with ‘Mlini Beach’ for views like these.
Food:
A restaurant serving fresh fish and great wine ensures that there really is no reason to hurry back to Hvar. Just ensure you make the last taxi boat at 7pm or else you’ll be stranded on this island paradise. What a shame that would be.
